What is Starfruit Arts?

Starfruit Arts is the name I gave my collection of artistic endeavors several years ago when I started sharing my work on social media. I have tried many art mediums over the years as I have pursued my passion for creation. Oil painting, watercolor painting, acrylic painting, charcoal drawing, ink work, crochet, jewelry making, digital design, glass work, macrame, sewing, YOU NAME IT and I've probably tried it at some point! Sharing my creations has always been my number one goal when it comes to making art, so I knew I needed a general name for the umbrella that shelters everything I manifest from my brain.

Why call it Starfruit Arts though?

I am a reincarnated star that has become a plant who bears many fruit. The fruitfulness of my life is what I intend to share through every piece of art I make.

Have you ever tried a starfruit? Like, the actual fruit itself. If not, go find one right now and slice that bad boy up! If you cut it right, you typically wind up with the cutest little star shaped bites of fruit. I honestly haven't had one since I was a little girl, but they have always been one of my favorite fruits. So there's that and then when it comes to why I chose the name for my art collective, I have to get a little weird and metaphorical for you to really get it, so bare with me here.. My current belief is that we humans (well, literally everything for that matter) are made of stars. Not the pretty ones still in the sky rn, but the dead ones that blew up a long time ago and helped create the universe that we currently inhabit. We transformed over all of time and space to become beings that experience the fullness of life that our starry selves created eons ago. For a long time, I have viewed my life and others' as if we're all plants(meditate on that!), constantly growing towards the sun (AKA the STAR we revolve around). It's in our nature that we are ever changing with each passing emotion we feel and moment fading in time. We constantly sprout new leaves and branches as paths and people come into our lives. We grow new roots as we define who we are and what we allow to stay. We let the decaying and deceased leaves that no longer serve us fall away(lest they be removed with force) like the deaths of toxic love and insecurity. Most importantly, like our starry past lives, we too create the fullness of life that becomes the fruit we dare to share with the rest of the world. Our fruit takes many shapes and forms. Joy, Misery, Gratitude, Corruption, Faith, Bigotry, Hatred, and Love, each fruit we share can transform the world around us (lets just hope we dont become bad apples..). This leads me to my fruit, my passionate love for the melodrama of life and death. If you combine all that mumbo jumbo and boil it down, you're left with my Starry Fruit. My life's fruitful work. The love and light in the form of art that I wish to make and share with you.
My Starfruit Arts.

Why are you doing any of this?

I want to see if I even can. To share the things I make that have been crafted with my artistic eye. It makes me feel grateful to be alive.

Oh, and if more people buy the stuff I make, I can buy even more art supplies and that's really fun too. I don't care if i'm rich or famous, I just care about making meaningful connections & creating
Art + Me + You =
Magic

Why suncatchers?

Because
rainbows, duh!

There's something really special to me in seeing the full spectrum of color in the light of a rainbow. Because I have always had prisms in my life, even as a little girl, I can confirm that it feels magical to be surrounded by rainbows on a daily basis.

I have a very fond memory of my grandmother giving meaning to rearview mirror suncatchers when I was 9 or 10 years old, so creating and sharing these rainbow suncatchers metaphorically and literally helps me share the light and love of my life.

Why are you asking yourself these questions?

I dont know, but I stole your font. Lolz Why don't you ask everyone else what they want to know?

That's not a bad idea... *changes font behind curtain*
